Welcome to Day 1 of the Challenge
Below you will find what I have planned for the next seven days. I’m sharing the week ahead of time so you can plan your mornings. Take inspiration from my ideas, or create your own feel better plan, but the idea is to do something for yourself each day + take your daily dose of CBD. It can take as little as five minutes. I will send you an email each morning to check on you and give you a reminder and a daily nudge of inspiration. We all need nudges when life feels hard.
MORNING TIME IS EVERYTHING.

- A journal or other paper and a pen
- An open heart and the desire to change
Saturday 8/1, Schedule It:
Welcome to Day 1 of the 21-Day Challenge. This morning is going to be easy. I want you to look over what we have planned for the week, gather what you will need to be successful, and pencil in time so you have the space you need to take care of yourself.
I am a busy woman. I own a business, I have two busy kids running around the house, and I have a husband who works full-time in our home office. We have a dog, a yard growing too many weeds, piles of laundry, unwashed dishes, and never ending chores. I have learned that in order to stick to my commitments to myself, I have to actually schedule my self-care like any other appointment. I treat it like something I plan for my kids or work, and I literally need to write it down. So this morning, before you start your day, get out your calendar, take a deep breath, and write down what you are going to do each day for the next week. Use my week’s calendar below for inspiration. Just taking this quiet time to reflect on the week ahead is healing in itself.
And while you’re at it, take a morning dose of your CBD. This week we will be experimenting with what our days feel like when we take CBD first thing in the morning, so this is a good time to start.

Sunday 8/2, Wake Up Slow: It’s Sunday morning! The perfect day to wake up slowly. Allow yourself time and space to wake up without any hurry or rush. If you have kids, wake up before them so you still have time to yourself before they need you. Don’t look at your phone or email or the news until you’ve had some quiet time. Take your daily dose of CBD and then enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, open a good book, take a walk outside, or enjoy a hot shower. Spend at least 15 minutes of quiet time before you start the tasks of the day.

It takes two minutes, but it grounds me for the whole rest of the day. How would you like to feel in your body today, with your family, and at work? What do you need from your day? Take time to reflect and write it down in your journal. Come back to your intention throughout the day. You will be amazed at the way you make different decisions based on how you want to feel.

Tuesday 8/4, Gratitude: Gratitude is amazing medicine. It alone can change your life. I know, it sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what you already have in your life. With gratitude, people acknowledge what’s good in their lives. It helps you feel more positive, improves physical health, helps you sleep better, and reduces stress. If you want to learn more about the power of gratitude, here is a great article in Forbes.
Today, take a moment before you get out of bed to pause and be grateful. Take your daily dose of CBD and then grab your journal. Write down three things you are grateful for and why. And then, when the day gets feeling heavy, remember that you are grateful. Go back to your journal if you need to.

Wednesday 8/5, BREATHE. Breath is something that we all have all the time. It’s free and easy to access. This morning, before you get up and face the day, take your daily dose of CBD and then spend some time deep breathing. Sit up straight, either on your bed, the floor, or a chair, and take several deep breaths. Imagine that your breath starts low in your belly. Inhale through your nose all the way up to the count of four. Pause at the top of your breath. The exhale slowly, all the way down, to the count of four. Do this at least four rounds.
Deep breathing immediately brings you into the present moment and calms your mind and nervous system. The slow breath sends a message to your mind that it is safe to slow down. Your body then follows. Deep breath relieves tension and pain in the body. It’s a great way to help manage chronic pain. CBD also calms the nervous system, so doing the two together can have immediate calming effects.

Thursday 8/6, Go Outside. How often do you go outside and stop to smell the roses? I mean literally? We go outside in a rush to get to our cars and the next place on our to-do list, but we don’t often go outside and take in the smells, sounds, and sights of nature. Going outside, breathing in fresh air, and taking in the glory of the earth will calm your nervous system, connect you to the larger meaning of life, and help you feel more grounded. Your body will relax, pain will soften, and tonight you might sleep better.
This morning, go outside before you start your day. Take your daily dose of CBD, and then take a walk, or simply step out on your porch with your coffee. Acknowledge all five senses. What do you see? The sky? Trees? Clouds? What do you smell? What do you hear? Any birds? Wind? What can you feel or touch? Any leaves or flowers? The breeze on your skin? And taste. Just take a moment to think about your tea or coffee or whatever you are enjoying this morning. Life is actually pretty good.

Friday 8/7, Meditate. Meditation doesn’t have to be hard. It can simply be sitting still for a few minutes and focusing on your breath, or doing a guided meditation with a teacher you love. Meditation can help reduce stress, manage pain, and help you sleep better. It is a wonder drug, not to mention simple and free.
